Sundar Pichai gets interviewed

April 2, 2025

An interview with good answers, but even better questions.

Accidentally stumbled across this podcast, and it turned out to be mind blowing!

You really get to see Google's strategy for the future by learning about their plans for using AI in all their products to stay ahead. It's also fascinating to understand how Google is tackling the intense competition from Microsoft and OpenAI in this fast-evolving AI landscape. Plus, the interview offers key insights into how AI will change the future of Google Search and how Pichai is at the forefront of all the innovation.

Besides, Google's CEO, Pichai's calm and composite demeanor, contrasted with the host's fierce, direct and at times challenging questioning style make it an interesting watch 💯💯

2 quotes on point!

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

- H. Jackson Brown Jr.

"Hide not your talents, they for use were made,
What's a sundial in the shade?
"

- Benjamin Franklin

3 Founder power moves – are you doing these?

1. Don't lose the big picture

There might be roadblocks for you all on the way, from big ones to small ones. Some might take days to overcome to some might take weeks, or more. In spite of all that you face as a founder, don't lose the big picture, the vision you have for your company. When things get tough, be tougher, reflect, reset, and regain your momentum.

2. The myth of a dream job

Just like there is no perfect human being, the same goes for your job. There is no dream job; in fact, that is a day dream. Real life is about problems, things getting uncertain, and you feeling bored doing the same work every day. Don't chase that dream job, instead chase those challenging work adventures & overcome them.

3. Learn to manage your critic

You can sometimes be so hard on yourself, not realizing how far you have come, having achieved so much. Manage that inner critic, keep it on bay. Don't led negative thoughts lead you into a cycle of worthlessness. Recognize the negative pattern that your inner critic keeps you in, and manage it with self-talk by reminding yourself that things are not as bad as they seem, or one negative thing can not determine your self-worth. Do this as a conscious exercise and turn your critic into a good friend.
