About Brands.live

Launched in the year 2019, Brands.live is a digital branding platform designed to help small and medium-sized businesses with branding and marketing. It allows users to create personalized digital content such as business posts, festival greetings, and other creative marketing materials. The platform offers customizable templates in multiple Indian languages, making it accessible and easy for businesses to enhance their online presence without needing advanced design skills.  

It is very popular in the Indian subcontinent and has helped over 7+ million customers in amping up their social media game. It caters to a wide range of industries, offering templates and tools for promoting businesses on social media and other platforms. Users can add their name, logo, and other details to pre-designed layouts for festivals, businesses, events or custom promotions.  

From digital business cards, logos, event flyers, and social media templates, it is a versatile tool for small and large businesses alike. The platform supports the creation of visually appealing, ready-to-download marketing assets, enabling companies to enhance their brand visibility quickly and efficiently, all in a budget-friendly way.

The Canva-like editing solution is famous all-over India, with over 10lakh + paid subscribers, and helps brands to go live in a budget friendly, stunning way, perfectly resonating with their name - Brands.live.

The motivation behind starting Brands.live

Sharing the first name, B for Brands.live, and B for their founders' name - Bhavesh Patel & Bhavesh Korat. Together, they run Brands.live, which has become The Indian subcontinent's answer to Canva, with a cultural twist. Just like the coincidence in their name is interesting, the story of how they started Brands.live is also quite interesting.  

Both the Bhavesh(s) met in a business meetup, organized by the Patel community. And soon realized that they don’t just share the same first name, but they have the same values and aspirations. Both of them believed in doing good for the community, and that’s what brought them together.  

And what better way to start than to help small businesses in India make it to the top when it comes to marketing and social media presence, and this is how Brands.live started in 2019.

About the founders – Bhavesh Patel & Bhavesh Korat

Both the co-founders, sharing the same first name, Bhavesh, Bhavesh Patel and Bhavesh Korat co-founded Brands.live in 2019. Belonging from the Patel community of Gujarat, the co-founders have rich experience and journey spanning more than a decade. It was a great pleasure working with such incredible clients.

Bhavesh Patel

Bhavesh Patel is from the Palanpur district of Gujarat. With a background in digital content creation, Patel helped launch Brands.live in 2019 alongside Bhavesh Korat. Having studied in a traditional Gurukul setting, this unconventional background enriched his foundational learning. He pursued self-directed studies in sound engineering and media production, which became the cornerstone of his career.

Having begun his professional journey in 2007 as a Sound Engineer at Ragini Advertising, led him to hone his skills in audio production.  Later, he became a Creative Partner at Sound Art Production in 2008, blending sound design with storytelling. In 2011, he co-founded White Grape Productions, leading diverse media projects for nearly a decade.

In 2019, he co-founded Brands.live, aiming to simplify branding for small and medium enterprises by offering customizable digital content solutions. His journey reflects a blend of traditional values and modern innovation. Besides being the CEO of Brands.live, he is also very active at eChai meetups and is quite famous in his community.

Bhavesh Korat

Bhavesh Korat is a co-founder and director of Brands.live. Hailing from Ahmedabad, India, he has a background in business and entrepreneurship. Before starting Brands.live in 2019 with Bhavesh Patel, he worked in various roles that enhanced his understanding of marketing and brand strategy. His vision for Brands.live is rooted in addressing the challenges that many small businesses face in establishing a strong brand identity due to limited resources and expertise.

Korat's approach emphasizes creating user-friendly solutions that enable businesses to produce high-quality digital content easily. Under his leadership, Brands.live has focused on providing customizable media solutions to help businesses effectively engage their audiences.  

Besides being the director at Brands.live, but he is also a founder of Versatile Techno, a company that likely aligns with his interest in technology and innovation. In addition, Korat is also involved in sustainable agriculture. He manages a farm where environmentally conscious practices are integrated into daily operations. His approach to farming aligns with his broader philosophy of sustainability, which also earned him recognition as a Greenpreneur for his efforts in driving eco-friendly business practices.

Brands.live journey with us

Website design & development

For Brands.live, we got the opportunity to do both website design & development. The website is an amalgamation of giving the brand a solid makeover. We designed more than 25+ pages, showing the different solutions and features this accomplished solution possesses. For website development, we made use of Webflow. The website is dynamic, and if the user signs up to it, it can also turn into a web application, where users can even edit the templates. It is a perfect set of pages to showcase what Brands.live is and how users can create templates on the go.

Product design

We also created the designs for Brands.live product- desktop version. We chartered the entire user flow and the user experience of the web app. From the display of all the templates of festivals calendar-wise to editing the templates & videos with different design elements, we are immensely proud to have designed the web version of the Brands.live app. The web version makes it easy for the end-users to easily design posters and videos seamlessly.  

Moreover, as Brands.live’s focus was more on the B2B side, we fine-tuned the designs with the focus more on different kinds of businesses and marketplaces that would use the app. For that, we also kept a separate configuration button for the businesses as well for an easy search. The entire layout is intuitive and leads to satisfactory customer interaction and an increase in brand reputation.

If you insert a prompt -- “Create an image that has two moons in the sky, many stars in the sky, and house below it whose light is on.”, then it will create an image for you based on the command you have given. You can even insert that image in your existing template or create your own designs with the new image. This is especially useful for businesses looking to boost social media presence with tailored visuals without needing advanced design skills. Regardless of whether it is generating personalized images, such as festival posters or businesses marketing visuals, Brands.live combined with Nav AI, can do wonders in just seconds.

Some of the challenges we faced while redesigning Brands.live

While designing the product, there were a couple of challenges that we faced, but we are proud to have resolved them, and the result is a product that is enhanced with amazing features & amazing designs.

Information architecture

One of the challenges that we faced was – Information Architecture (IA). As it was a design platform, there were too many elements in it, and thus segregating, grouping, labeling and making it accessible for the users was one of the challenges we faced.  

We addressed these challenges, and created an effective IA, by carrying out user research, studying competitors’ platform, and rigorously testing the wireframes. Ultimately, we rolled out the product designs, that enhanced how users interacted with the brand and accessed information.

Defining the user interface and the modules

Another bit of challenge our designers faced was defining the user interface (UI) and the modules. As the product was complex, our designers had to create distinct sections aka modules that served specific functions like displaying products or showcasing content. Our designers identified the key modules and created a user flow that met all the requirements of the users.  

Furthermore, as the product was a design platform, it would be used by many users, and on varied devices & platforms. We had to ensure that designs worked well on all the devices, like phones and tablets, so users can have a smooth and enjoyable experience no matter how they access the site. Consequently, we crafted eye-catchy and easy-to-use layouts by choosing colors, fonts, and button sizes that create a consistent look across the site.
